An expected 120,000 kids and adolescents aged 0-19 were suffering from HIV in India in 2017, the most highest in South Asia, concurring a report by UNICEF which warned that around 80 adolescents will color of AIDS each day comprehensively by 2030 if progress in preventing transmission isn’t accelerated.

The report noted that South Asia has got good progress in decreasing HIV risks and weakness among kids, adolescents, pregnant ladies and mothers.

In India, an estimated 120,000 kids and adolescents aged 0-19 were living with HIV in 2017. In Pakistan, the statistics was 5,800, followed by Nepal (1,600) and Bangladesh (under 1,000), as per the UNICEF report released Thursday ‘Children, HIV and AIDS: The World in 2030.’

In 2017, the estimated number of children under 5 years of age recently diagnosed to have HIV was 43 percent less than the comparable estimate in 2010. a decrease more than the 35 percent recorded globally.
