If 2017 was about smartphones with dual cameras and long battery life, then 2018 is expected to be year of smartphones with big battery life, features like facial recognition and virtual reality. Smartphone companies like Samsung , Micromax and vivo launched samrtphones with 18:9 ratio display which improves the viweing experience of users. These devices became instant hit among indians, who incidentally the biggest consumers of mobile data. Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Lenovo continuouslydominating the Indian market, taking the top 4 positions in top 5 list.(In terms of shipment.) While Samsung is on the top position in most part of the year, Xiaomi has emerged as the biggest challenger, at the end of september quater both companies share the top positions. In the year 2017 we saw handset makers has placed there bets on top models like Galaxy Note 8 from Samsung and Redmi $A from Xiaomi to convert them into brand loyalties.
