The 84-year-old, who was felicitated by veteran performing artist Rekha, reflected upon her adventure of more than six decades and even thought back her first meeting with the late Yash Chopra. Asha was consulted with Yash Chopra Memorial Award for her remarkable contribution to the Hindi film industry. Both Rekha and Asha were wearing cream-and-gold sarees. While presenting the honor to the artist, Rekha said that she has as a special place in her heart for Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar. Yash Chopra’s significant other Pamela Chopra, producers Boney Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar, artist Alka Yagnik, actor Padmini Kohlapure, scriptwriter Honey Irani, and Anu and Shashi Ranjan were a part of the honor jury board. Also present at the occasion were Jackie Shroff, Parineeti Chopra and Poonam Dhillon. Maharashtra Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao was likewise present at the honor service. The honor has been instituted by MP T Subbarami Reddy in the memory late director Yash Chopra, who died in 2012. The honor likewise carries a money prize of Rs 10 lakh. The past beneficiaries of the honor were Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and Shah Rukh Khan.
