The blast occurred at a constructional material dump in the Pan Bazar region when the four bystanders, including a women, were harmed around 11.45 am, police said. “We don’t suspect it to be a bomb blast as there were no splinters found and the injuries were because of stones hitting them,” said DCP Ranjan Bhuyan who is at the site. “We don’t presume it to be a harm or terrorists movements from the idea of the impact. It occurred in a dump of sand kept for roadside drain construction. It might have had an unexploded shell which went off today,” the DCP said. A expert bomb squad would arrive soon, he included. As per Joint CP Diganta Borah, “Around 11.45 am, a blast happened at the riverfront. Fundamental examination precludes any harm movement. Bomb disposal squad is available at the spot, assist examination is in progress.” The four harmed endured minor injuries and they were being given medical consideration at the MMC Civil Hospital close-by, the police official said.
