The young lady, who was doing battling for life in hospital with 90% burn injuries, passed on late Friday night. Cops have caught the accused minors, aged 11 and 10, while the third offender is slipping off. “The minors have admitted to the crime. Amid addressing, they said the girl was alone at home after coming back from school when the youth Zakir Hussain raped her. The teens at that point joined them and three off them later set her on fire,” police stated, including that the casualty’s parents were at work when the crime occurred. A conceivable individual animosity of the family with Zakir may have set off the crime, it is accepted. This is the second case in the area since last Thursday, when a 35-year-old lady was gang raped by eight men in front of her husband. The guilty parties had waylaid the couple on the pretext of offering shelter for the night after they were stranded in Chaparmukh area because of unavailability of transport. Amid the state budget session a month ago, parliamentary affairs serve Chandra Mohan Patowary informed the house that no less than 3009 assaults and 106 instances of viciousness against ladies were registered in Assam after the Sarbananda Sonowal government came into force in 2016.
