The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a notice cautioning people about the fake websites made with a layout similar to the original website of the central bank.

“It has come to the notice of the Reserve Bank of India that a fake website of the Reserve Bank of India has been made with the URL www.indiareserveban.org by some unknownperson(s). The format of the fake site is like the first RBI site,” RBI has said in a circular.

“The home page of the fake website additionally contains an provision for Bank verification with online accoutn holders which seems to have been made with a fake exintent  of getting personal and confidential account details of interest of clients of banks,” RBI included.

RBI has cleared up that as India’s central bank, it doesn’t hold any accounts for people and never requests personal data, for example, bank account details, passwords, etc.

The Reserve Bank has additionally forewarned individuals that reacting on the web on such sites could bring about “compromising crucial personal information” that might be “misused to cause money related and different loss”.

URLs of sites, for example, www.rbi.org, www.rbi.in and so on may seem like the site of RBI. Be that as it may, these sites have no affiliation with the Reserve Bank of India.
