Facebook is releasing 3D photos in News Feed and video game (VR) to allow users to look and make 3D photos with life-like dimensions as well as depth and movement.

Users have options to adjust and experiment with creating multiple layers, contrastive colors and textures so as to make photos in 3D format.

“Everyone will be able to see 3D photos in News Feed and VR today, while the ability to create and share 3D photos begins to roll out today,” the Facebook 360 team wrote in a blog-post on Thursday.

The technology behind 3D photos captures the distance between the subject within the foreground and the background.

“Just take a pic in `Portrait` mode your dual-lens smartphone, then share as a 3D pic on Facebook wherever you’ll scroll, pan and tilt to determine the pic in realistic 3D,”

The social networking large would additionally enable users to look at 3D photos in VR exploitation the “Oculus Go” browser or Firefox on eye Rift by dragging, sound or tilting their heads to expertise the 3 dimensions in photos.

The feature would be out there to everyone within the few weeks.

“We`re listening to feedback on this new format and we continue rolling it out to everyone,”the post additional.
