A 9-year-old Tamil Nadu girl Anupriya from Vizhuppuram donated her savings of Rs. 9000 to Kerala chief minister’s distress relief fund and sacrificed her dream of buying a cycle. “I saved around Rs 9000 for more than four years to buy a cycle. However, I saw visuals of Kerala flood on TV and chose to donate the money, toward relief exercises,” Anupriya told reporters.

She had been saving her pocket money and collecting Rs 5 coins in five piggy banks for new bicycle.The data shared on Twitter by Ethirajan Srinivasan is currently doing the rounds on the twitter.

Anupriya’s donation inspired an emotional response to Hero Cycles, India’s chief cycle maker, and they have now promised her one brand new bike every year. They even valued her donation on their official Twitter account:

After that Hero Cycle’s tweet, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also respected the organization’s action.
