All the remaining Indian Premier League (IPL) matches of CSK will be shifted from Chennai to Pune in the wake of Tuesday’s savagery over the Cauvery waters debate.

“CSK will be requested to move their home matches to Pune as the Chennai police has expressed their inability to give sufficient security to the rest of the matches,” IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla told correspondents here on Wednesday.

Prior, CSK Chief Executive Officer KS Viswanathan had stated, “We conversed with the Chennai`s Commissioner of Police over the issue. He proposed we move the matches as the circumstance is volatile in the city.”

“We have put the ball in BCCI`s court and the board will now accept an approach the issue,” he included.

Different Tamil groups had requested that the authorities off all IPL coordinates in Chennai until the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) and Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee (CWRC) as mandate by the Supreme Court are set up the Central government.
