Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has became the highest income tax payer in Jharkhand, paying tax of Rs 12.17 crore in financial year 2017-18. As per reports, the cricketer has also deposited Rs 3 crore as advance tax for the next financial year.

As per chief income tax commissioner V Mahalingam, Dhoni had in financial year 2016-17 paid income tax of Rs 10.93 crore. In any case, he was not the highest citizen in the state in the past financial year.

Mahendhra Singh Dhoni owns a football franchise in Indian Super League, he is the joint owner of Ranchi Rays franchise in the hockey league. He also launched his apparels line previous year and also submitted a proposal to build a 5 star hotel.
