He was moved to the ICU of the Max Hospital on July 8 and from that point forward his condition kept on falling. Tiwari was the first Indian to worked as the chief minister of two states. He worked as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh from 1976-77, 1984-85, and after that from 1988-89. He likewise worked as the Uttarakhand Chief Minister from 2002-2007. In 1986-1987, Tiwari served in then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s cabinet as the Minister for External Affairs. He additionally filled in as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh from 2007 to 2009.
