Students will be able to claim their taking in permit from their college premises as it were. “Young and studying in Delhi? You soon get your Learner’s Driving License from your college itself. Delhi Government empowers Directors and Principals of colleges, Polytechnics and ITI’s to issue Learner’s License. Over 2 Lakh students will benefit each year” said Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot. Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal claimed the activity as “big step in cutting the red tape” and “decreasing debasement”. The license will be substantial up to six months. Students need to show up for an online test to get the learning license. Consequently students be able to get their taking in permit from their schools and after the driving test at the RTO they will be issued with the permanent license. Initially,this arrangement has been made open to the Polytechnic and 6 DU colleges which constitute under Delhi Government.
