And now, it seems like Prayagraj is all set for the kumbh mela 2019. This time it is expected that nearly 5000 NRI’s will also attend the Kumbh Mela this year. The Uttar Pradesh government had approved nearly Rs 2800 crore for the organisation of the festival. But as per reports, the total expenditure has gone upto Rs. 4300 crores including other funds also. For the massive festival, a new world’s largest temporary city has been setted up. It has 250 km long roads and total 12 pontoon bridges. More than 40,000 LED bulbs are installed in the temporary city of Kumbh mela. The Kumbh mela is registered in the ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity’. The surveillance is under the ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity’. The Uttar Pradesh govt. released a statement that read;“Integrated Control and Command Centre of the smart city project has been dedicated to Prayagraj. The system will facilitate controlling and keeping safe the traffic movement and the crowd coming to Mela. There will be two Control and Command Centres under a scheme of about Rs 247 crore in Prayagraj. Of these, one Control and Command Centre costing Rs 116 crore has been completed and made functional.” More than 20,000 police officers are also deputed at the site. These police personnel are vegetarians and and doesn’t drink alcohol. As per reports, around 12 crores people will attend the kumbh mela from 192 countries.
