A Yamaraja known as God of Death, attired in his golden dress, caught drivers close to the Town hall in Bengaluru today and cautioned them he would visit their homes in the event that they broke traffic rules.

The Halasuru Gate traffic police restricted in Yamaraja as their brand ambassador to drive the message of the threats of not wearing a helmet, driving carelessly etc.

“We are observing July as a road safety month. As a component of it, we are directing different programmes, for example, lectures in schools and universities and street plays,” Deputy Commissioner of traffic police Anupam Agrawal told.

“Additionally, we thought of using the character Yama to send the message over that if you ignore the traffic rules, Yamraj will go to your home,” he said.

The actor, who stops drivers and help them to remember the importance of following traffic rules, was Veeresh, a theatre artist.

After capturing for the mostly young drivers, Yama waved his mace in air, warned them that he would not save them.

Now and again, he rode pillion on those bikes that were driven carelessly. The programme intends to raise awareness among people about the significance of traffic safety rules. As per activity police, the people awareness drive helped in limiting accidents.
